Bridging study
ブリッジングburijjingu
A study that links old and new data when something in a measurement system changes, such as a new lot of reference standard, a new critical reagent or a new assay format. Old and new are tested side by side under the same conditions to show that reported values stay continuous. In Japanese analytical and QC documents, the word usually means this reagent or standard changeover. In clinical regulation, a bridging study is something else: a study that extends foreign clinical data to the Japanese population under ICH E5. Check which meaning a document intends before you quote a timeline or cost.
