Normal operating range (NOR)

The range of a process parameter targeted in routine manufacturing, set inside the proven acceptable range to allow for normal variability. Operating outside the NOR but inside the PAR usually triggers an investigation under site procedures without necessarily affecting product quality. Japanese batch records and process descriptions may give target values, the NOR and the PAR side by side, so check which one a stated range is before comparing it with your own documents.
