Anhydrous acetonitrile of oligonucleotide synthesis grade is a low-moisture solvent used to dilute and wash phosphoramidites on the synthesizer. Trace water lowers coupling efficiency, so the water specification and the supply format, such as septum-sealed containers that limit air exposure, matter for lot-to-lot reproducibility.
