Japanese–English glossary
Filling
Also called fill-finish
充填jūten
Dispensing formulated product into final containers such as vials, syringes or cartridges and closing them, for biologics usually aseptically after sterile filtration. In Japanese usage the word can mean the filling step alone or the whole fill-finish stage, including inspection, labeling and packaging. Fill volume accuracy, closure integrity and particle control are the critical checks. The same Japanese word is used for packing a chromatography column, as in packed bed (充填床), so read the context.
