Japanese–English glossary
Recovery
回収率kaishūritsu
In analytical work, the percentage of a known added amount of analyte that a method measures, used to show accuracy (spike recovery). In manufacturing, the same word means the fraction of product recovered across a step or a process, close to step yield. Japanese documents use one word for both, so check whether a recovery figure is an analytical accuracy result or a process result. In cleaning validation, the recovery of residue from swabs and rinse samples is established before sampling results can be trusted.
