Working cell bank (WCB)
ワーキングセルバンクwākingu seru banku
Also written ワーキングセルバンク(WCB)
A cell bank made by expanding cells from one or more vials of the master cell bank and used to start routine production. Keeping the master cell bank in reserve and starting each production run from the working cell bank keeps every batch's starting point the same. Each new working cell bank is qualified against defined tests before use, as described in ICH Q5D. Japanese documents abbreviate it WCB.
