Residual DNA

Also called residual host cell DNA

残留DNAzanryū DNA

DNA from the host cells, or from plasmid templates, that remains in a biological product after purification. Limits depend on the cell substrate and the route of administration: cell lines that are tumorigenic or carry viral or cancer-related sequences call for tighter control of both amount and fragment size. It is usually measured by quantitative PCR or digital PCR specific to the host genome. Japanese documents use several near-synonyms for this attribute, including host cell DNA.
